New headquarters of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (Nato)

Belgium’s King Philippe and Prime Minister Charles Michel on Thursday officially transferred the new NATO headquarters to the Alliance. Michel called it a symbol that Nato needs at this time.
New headquarters is a futuristic construction made of steel, concrete and glass, with eight floors and a total area of about 25 football fields. The building costs just over €1.1 billion. Belgium played a crucial role in its construction, according to Michel.
The new headquarters already received the Heads of State and Government of the 28 Nato Member States, including US President Donald Trump and Belgium’s King Philippe. The building will only be fully operational after the summer due to delays with its computer systems.
