Alexey Bogdanov: Global Relocation and Capital Protection in 2026
Where to look for stability today? Alexey Bogdanov, founder of Belgamed, answers. We discuss mistakes of relocants and trends for the next 10-15 years.
— Alexey, you started in Europe in 1999. How many times have you moved?
— Long-term, nine countries: Russia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, UK, Belgium, Luxembourg, Cyprus, Estonia, and South Africa. Today my main locations are Estonia, Cyprus, Belgium, and South Africa.
— Why do some succeed in moving and others fail?
— Language barrier and inability to integrate. People think “I’ll find a job easily,” but you compete with locals who know the culture. Financial security is the foundation – you need enough for a year or two without local income.
— Which countries are most predictable for legalization?
— Belgium, Luxembourg, and Finland. You can apply for a passport after 5 years of residence.
— Where is the future for investment?
— Look towards South Africa and Namibia. You can legally own land, and property in Cape Town is undervalued. It’s a strategic exit from global crises.
